Here's the new 1" shaft with a new anode and the new cutlass bearing installed (and the new prop). A man with an excellent hydraulic puller was called by the yard and he had the old bearing out in a few minutes. After that it was pretty easy to pull the shaft and replace it with the new one and we used the same hydraulic tool to press in the new bearing. After installing the new shaft seal we aligned the prop with a feeler guage to be sure it was perfect and that way we ensured that there would be no vibration. |
