sailing vessel 'Triptych'  finngulf 391

The Finngulf's rudder is powerful and well balanced. The helm is very light and on long passages the auto-pilot handles her like a dream. The pilot needs very little power and with the new rig, and her sails well balanced Triptych will hold a course in most seas, even without the pilot. The last time I hauled her there was no play in the rudder post and I fitted a new prop, a new cutlass bearing and a new water lubricated, dripless, stainless steel and carbon shaft-seal. I also fitted a new prop-shaft as the old one was a little pitted and worn from the old packing. The new three blader (15" x 11°) keeps her moving along beautifully and is much more reliable and more suited to cruising than the Maxprop.
